I am not a farmer. I am not a gardener. Look. You can tell by this photo. This is the product of my summer garden. I bought tomato plants, lots of heirloom plants. I was hopeful. I spent $$$$$ (way too many) for plants and the result…approximately 10 cherry tomatoes. They were good.
I have a ground hog and chipmunks, but some how, it can’t all be their fault. Next year I am going to take my tomato money and spend it at the farmers market.

Pray for rain and perfect weather, but shop local and eat well. No gardens.
If I was a farmer, I would weigh a svelte 105 pounds, but I wouldn’t be rich.

Edie, it was a terrible year for tomatoes! I grew tomato PLANTS too. One of my students told me to plant a dead fish under each one and it I got hardly any fruit. Don't feel bad, but I agree, it might just be easier to go to the farmers' market...
